Women's Track & Field Takes Ron Althoff Team Title

1st of 4 at Ron Althoff Relays

Junior Peyton Howell (Canton/GlenOak), senior Chase Patton (Delaware/Hayes), and sophomore Ireland Nowak (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) posted wins for Ohio Wesleyan to help the Bishops to the team title at the Ron Althoff Relays meet, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Friday at Gordon Field House.

Ohio Wesleyan won the meet with 139 points to 108 for St. Mary-of-the-Woods.  Mount Vernon Nazarene finished third with 66 points and Muskingum scored 40 points.

Howell won the high jump by clearing 5-7.

Patton won the pole vault with a performance of 10-11¾.

Nowak won the triple jump with a mark of 31-7½.

The Bishop 800-meter relay team of senior Julia Dickman (Marysville), senior Zoe Price (Bellefontaine), freshman Aliisa James (Miamisburg/Dayton Christian), and sophomore Addystin Lykins (Carey) won its event in 1:51.50, and the 1600-meter sprint relay team of freshman Sarah Mazzei (Rocky River), sophomore Sarah Watson (Fremont/Ross), Howell, and senior Jenna Hotchkiss (Newark/Licking Valley) won in 4:58.50.

Other standouts for the Bishops included James, who finished second in the 60-meter dash and long jump and tied for second in the 60-meter hurdles; senior Anna duSaire (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Louis Park), who was second in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump; senior Ari McPheters (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley), who placed second in the weight throw and fourth in the shot put; sophomore Annika Green (Granville), who finished second in the pole vault; Price, who tied for second in the 60-meter hurdles; Watson, who was third in the high jump; senior Khloe Dubenion (Columbus/Academy) who finished third in the weight throw; and junior Madison Manns (Kenton/Bellefontaine Logan), who finished fourth in the high jump.

The Ohio Wesleyan 1600-meter relay team of freshman Lia Sadd (Avon), Lykins, sophomore Mckela Elder (Fremont/Ross), and freshman Kara Cannon (Reynoldsburg/Encore Academy) placed second.  The 2000-meter distance medley relay team of Nowak, Cannon, freshman Aubrey Dunham (Minerva), and sophomore Sammy Maglott (Fredericktown) was third, as was the 4000-meter distance medley relay team of senior Kylee McFarland (Granville), Sadd, Elder, and junior Lauren Montgomery (Newark/Licking Valley).
