4th of 24 (collegiate teams) at Gettysburg Aubrey Shenk Invitational
Sophomore Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College on Saturday in Gettysburg, Pa.
Division I entity Robert Morris compiled 62 points to finish tops among collegiate teams, followed by Mount St. Mary's (83), Franklin & Marshall (152), Ohio Wesleyan (155), St. Francis (166), Bridgewater (231), DeSales (250), and Gettysburg (288). Morgan State finished 10th overall with 289 points, followed by Scranton (320), Hagerstown Community College (323), Waynesburg (353), Community College of Baltimore County-Essex (398). Alvernia (403), Harford Community College (483), Penn State-Harrisburg (492), Pennsylvania Highlands Community College (503), and Anne Arundel Community College (566). Potomac State, Albright, Christendom, Juniata, Penn State-Mont Alto, and Carroll Community College did not record team scores. The GRC New Balance Pacers won the team title with 22 points.
Keith Carlson of the GRC New Balance Pacers won the race in 24:46.4, finishing 12 seconds ahead of John Wang of Mount St. Mary's.
Horton finished 12th overall and second among NCAA Division III runners, completing the 8000-meter course in 26:02.6.
Sophomore Blake Johnson (Centerburg) placed 38th in 27:20.3, junior Evan Miller (Wooster) was 41st in 27:26.3, senior Ethan Bradt (Berea/Berea-Midpark) finished 46th in 27:35.3, and freshman Benjamin Blaumeiser (Kettering/Fairmont) closed out the Bishop scoring with a 49th-place finish in 27:36.4.
Sophomore Ethan McNichols (Gahanna/New Albany) placed 83rd in 28:47.5 and sophomore Kory Kaiser (Cincinnati/West Clermont) was 120th in 30:10.8.
