5th of 8 at NCAC championship
Sophomore Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington) won first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors in leading Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAC championship meet, hosted by The College of Wooster on Saturday in Wooster.
Oberlin won the conference title with 44 points to 56 for DePauw. Denison was third with 95 points, followed by Kenyon (111), Ohio Wesleyan (144), Wooster (147), Wabash (150), and Wittenberg (164).
Jacob Kissling of DePauw won the race by covering the 8000-meter course in 26:28.0, defeating Kenyon's Keegan Minahan by more than 8 seconds.
Horton finished seventh overall in 27:07.4 to win first-team All-NCAC recognition.
Junior Evan Miller (Wooster) placed 28th in 28:10.0, sophomore Blake Johnson (Centerburg) placed 34th in 28:21.2, senior Ethan Bradt (Berea/Berea-Midpark) was 38th in 28:34.6, and freshman Benjamin Blaumeiser (Kettering/Fairmont) completed the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 42nd-place finish in 28:54.5.
Sophomore Ethan McNichols (Gahanna/New Albany) was 67th in 30:18.5 and sophomore Simon Leck (Toledo/St. Francis DeSales) finished 72nd in 30:48.3.
