Junior Luke Waryck (North Ridgeville/Avon) represented Ohio Wesleyan during the first day of the North Coast Athletic Conference multi-event championship, hosted by the College of Wooster on Saturday in Wooster.
With 4 of the 7 events completed, Waryck was in seventh place with 2329 points.
Waryck opened the meet with a :07.71 in the 60-meter dash, the 11th-best time of the meet, for 646 points. His effort of 18-5 in the long jump also ranked 11th on the day and garnered 504 points.
Waryck had the meet's best performance in the shot put with a throw of 40-6, picking up 627 points, before finishing the day with a mark of 5-7¼ in the high jump, good for an eighth-place tie and 552 points.
The NCAC multi-event competition resumes on Sunday with the final 3 events in the heptathlon along with the women's pentathlon.
