Junior Luke Waryck (North Ridgeville/Avon) scored in the heptathlon at the North Coast Athletic Conference multi-event championship, hosted by the College of Wooster on Saturday and Sunday in Wooster.
Waryck placed eighth with 3794 points.
Waryck clocked a :09.66 in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing seventh overall and scoring 607 points, his third-best total in a single event. After clearing 10-4 in the pole vault, good for 393 points and eighth overall, Waryck closed out the meet with a 3:21.98 in the 1000-meter run, racking up 465 points.
On Saturday, Waryck opened the meet with a :07.71 in the 60-meter dash, the 11th-best time of the meet, for 646 points. His effort of 18-5 in the long jump also ranked 11th on the day and garnered 504 points. Waryck had the meet's best performance in the shot put with a throw of 40-6, picking up 627 points, before finishing the day with a mark of 5-7¼ in the high jump, good for an eighth-place tie and 552 points.
The 1 point scored by Waryck will carry over to next week's NCAC championship meet.
