Junior Ethan Bradt (Berea/Berea-Midpark) posted Ohio Wesleyan's best individual finish during the first day of the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet, hosted by Wittenberg University on Friday in Springfield.
DePauw and Denison were tied atop the standings with 34 points apiece. Wabash was third with 29 points, followed by Wittenberg (23), Wooster (21), Oberlin (17), Ohio Wesleyan (14), Allegheny (13), and Kenyon (10).
Bradt finished fourth in the 5000-meter run in 15:15.20.
Other standouts for the Bishops included junior Luke Waryck (North Ridgeville/Avon), who placed sixth in the shot put; and senior VaShawn Walker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley), who was eighth in the shot put.
The Ohio Wesleyan distance medley relay team of freshman Preston Pethtel (Heath), freshman Charley Morris (Denver, Colo./Denver School of the Arts), freshman Simon Leck (Toledo/St. Francis DeSales), and junior Levi Kilian (Ault, Colo./Heritage Christian Academy) finished fifth.
In Friday's preliminaries, Kilian recorded the meet's fastest time in the 800-meter run, finishing in 1:55.93.
The NCAC championship meet is scheduled to conclude on Saturday.
