Sophomore attacker Nicole Klabus (Delaware/Hayes) scored to kick off a game-opening 5-0 run, then scored 3 goals during the second quarter as Ohio Wesleyan outscored Adrian, 6-1, during the period and went on to a non-conference win in the Bishops' season opener on Saturday in Adrian, Mich.

Klabus put the Bishops on the scoreboard just over a minute into the game, junior attacker Grace Egan (Ridgefield, Conn.) followed with a goal less than a minute later, and sophomore midfielder Sophia DelGallo (Braintree, Mass.) added a goal just 14 seconds after that.  Sophomore attacker Sophia Staples-Roy (Hopkinton, N.H.) converted a free-position shot midway through the period, and junior midfielder Caroline Kiker (Shaker Heights) made it 5-0 with 2:59 left in the quarter.

Adrian rallied with a pair of goals during the final 30 seconds of the quarter, but the Bishops scored 5 times during the first 4 minutes of the second period, with Klabus and DelGallo each scoring twice during that run.  Klabus added a free-position goal with just over a minute left in the half for an 11-3 Bishop lead at the break.

Senior attacker Taylor Floyd (Wilton, Conn.) and freshman midfielder Caroline Fleming (Pittsburgh, Pa./South Fayette) opened the second half with goals to extend the Ohio Wesleyan lead into double digits.

Klabus led the Bishops with 5 goals, while DelGallo finished with 4.  Freshman Abby Markowitz (Las Vegas, Nev./Somerset Academy) recorded 3 saves for the Bishops.

Olive Stevens scored 4 goals for Adrian.  Avery Huxter finished with 14 saves for the Bulldogs.
