Junior midfielder Evie Williams (Providence, R.I./Moses Brown School) tallied 3 goals during the first quarter to help Ohio Wesleyan build a 10-0 lead, and the Bishops went on to a non-conference win over West Virginia Wesleyan in the Bishops' home opener on Saturday at Selby Stadium.

Sophomore midfielder Sophia DelGallo (Braintree, Mass.) put the Bishops on the scoreboard before sophomore attacker Sophia Staples-Roy (Hopkinton, N.H.) and Williams followed with goals just :13 apart. 

Freshman midfielder Sammy Johnson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) and freshman midfielder Amara Carlson (Dublin/Coffman) scored goals only :15 apart later in the period, and after scores by junior attacker Grace Egan (Ridgefield, Conn.) and freshman midfielder Caroline Fleming (Pittsburgh, Pa./South Fayette), it was Williams with a pair of goals only :15 apart before sophomore attacker Nicole Klabus (Delaware/Hayes) closed out the period with a goal.

Klabus, junior midfielder Caroline Kiker (Shaker Heights), and Williams scored during the second quarter for Ohio Wesleyan, and Isabella Verona and Kaitlynn Canby scored for West Virginia Wesleyan to make it 13-2 at the break.

Senior attacker Taylor Floyd (Wilton, Conn.) had 2 goals during the third quarter, and freshman attacker Samantha Diaz (Los Angeles, Calif./Compton Early College) contributed a goal and an assist during the fourth quarter.

Williams led the Bishops with 5 goals.  Freshman Abby Markowitz (Las Vegas, Nev./Somerset Academy) had 1 save during the first half and sophomore Natalie Coontz (Dublin/Jerome) made 1 save during the second half.

Verona, Canby, Iris Kolenich, and Emma Adcock each scored for West Virginia Wesleyan.  Maggie Wroe made 7 saves for the Bobcats.
