Baldwin Wallace 12, Ohio Wesleyan 3

Junior second baseman D.J. Neff (Grove City) slammed a home run to put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard and junior outfielder Max Pershin (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech College Prep) delivered a 2-run double, but Baldwin Wallace defeated the Bishops in non-conference play on Monday in Port Charlotte, Fla.

The Yellow Jackets pushed across an unearned run in the third, then got a 2-run single from Drew Wilson during a 4-run fourth.  Wilson and Ryan Guggenheim plated runs in the sixth to increase the lead to 7-0.

Neff's solo shot in the top of the seventh put the Bishops on the scoreboard, but the Yellow Jackets got the run back in the bottom of the inning on Sean Kolenich's RBI double.

Pershin doubled home senior first baseman Izaiah Withrow (Carroll/Bloom-Carroll) and senior shortstop Colin Spranger (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) to bring the Bishops within 8-3 in the eighth, but Chris Viamonte's bases-clearing double helped Baldwin Wallace put the game out of reach in the bottom of the inning.

Pershin was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI on the day. 

Sophomore righthander Jason Monos (Amherst/Steele) was the starting and losing pitcher for Ohio Wesleyan.

Dawson Gabe blanked the Bishops on 2 hits over the first 5.0 innings to record the win for BW.
