Junior attacker Grace Egan (Ridgefield, Conn.), freshman midfielder Caroline Fleming (Pittsburgh, Pa./South Fayette), and sophomore attacker Nicole Klabus (Delaware/Hayes) scored goals that gave Ohio Wesleyan a 3-1 lead, but Oberlin rallied for a North Coast Athletic Conference win on Wednesday in Oberlin.
Reilly Jackman started the day's scoring, giving the Yeowomen the lead in the second minute of the game.
Egan tallied a goal to even the score midway through the period, and Fleming and Klabus followed with goals for a 3-1 Ohio Wesleyan lead.
Oberlin rang up the next 3 scores, with Izzy Sunday scoring once and Lauren Mills recording goals less than a minute apart for a 4-3 lead, but Egan answered with a score to tie the game at 4 heading into the half.
The Yeowomen opened the third quarter with a 5-1 run, with Abigail Patchen and Emily Shimabukuro scoring twice each, to open up a 6-5 lead.
Junior midfielder Caroline Kiker (Shaker Heights) scored during the final minute of the third period to make it a 9-6 game, but the Bishops did not score again until the final 2 minutes of the contest.
Kiker, Fleming, and Egan scored 2 goals apiece for Ohio Wesleyan. Freshman goalkeeper Abby Markowitz (Las Vegas, Nev./Somerset Academy) stopped 10 shots for Ohio Wesleyan.
Patchen and Mills each contributed 3 goals and 2 assists for Oberlin. Logan McDermott-Mostowy made 18 saves for the Yeowomen.
