Box Score
Kenyon 11, Ohio Wesleyan 10

Freshman attacker Carson Geier (Milford) scored to tie the game at 10 midway through the fourth quarter, but Kenyon got the go-ahead goal and escaped with a North Coast Athletic Conference win over the Bishops on Saturday at Selby Stadium.

Ohio Wesleyan trailed, 10-8, heading into the fourth quarter, but evened the game as freshman midfielder Spencer Amacher (Blacksburg, Va./Blue Ridge School) scored with 11:27 remaining and Geier scored off a feed from senior attacker Henry Hasenberg (Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola) with 8:46 to play.

Kenyon took an 11-10 lead on Cameron Longway's goal with 5:09 remaining in regulation time.

The Bishops killed a 1-minute man-down situation shortly after that, and freshman goalkeeper MacGuire Scholl (Upper Arlington) made a save on a shot by Matt Pollack to keep the game at 11-10.  With time running out, senior defenseman Miles Rathell (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) caused a turnover and senior defenseman Joe Connor (Barrie, Ontario) scooped up the ground ball to give Ohio Wesleyan a chance at the equalizer.  The Bishops cleared the ball successfully and freshman midfielder Brady Hunt (Maineville/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) got a look at the Kenyon goal, but his shot was stopped by Lord keeper Mayo Amorello.

Senior midfielder Conor McGeeney (Loveland/Archbishop Moeller) put the Bishops on top in the first minute of the game, but the Lords got the next 2 goals as Jack Giuffre and Declan Curry scored 47 seconds apart for a 2-1 Kenyon lead.  Each team scored twice after that and the first quarter ended with the visitors holding a 4-3 lead.

Hasenberg and Geier scored goals just over a minute apart during the second period, but Giuffre found the back of the net with 3:58 left to make it a 6-5 game at the half.

Senior attacker Luke Swaddling (Strongsville/Lakewood St. Edward) set up Hasenberg on back-to-back goals to open the second-half scoring and give the lead back to the Bishops, but the Lords closed out the quarter with a 4-1 run to go up, 10-8, heading into the final period.

Hasenberg led the Bishops with 4 goals and an assist, while Geier finished with 3 goals.  Scholl stopped 16 shots in the Ohio Wesleyan crease.

Pollack led Kenyon with 3 goals.  Amorello finished with 11 saves for the Lords.
