at NCAA Division III championship

Senior Ari McPheters (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) finished 17th nationally while representing Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAA Division III championship meet, hosted by the University of Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission on Friday at Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Competing in the shot put, McPheters turned in a throw of 41-2¼ on the first attempt, then fouled on the second attempt before launching a throw of 42-11¾ on the final attempt, good for sixth place in the opening flight, but McPheters did not advance to the finals and finished 17th in the final national standings.

McPheters was seeded 17th heading into the meet with a throw of 44-11½.
