2nd of 8 at NCAC championship
Junior Peyton Howell (Canton/GlenOak) repeated as the North Coast Athletic Conference champion in the high jump to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAC championship meet, hosted by Oberlin College on Friday in Oberlin.
Oberlin won the meet with 187 points to 127 for Ohio Wesleyan. DePauw finished third with 121½ points, followed by Denison (99), Allegheny (91), Wooster (84½), Wittenberg (72), and Kenyon (35).
Howell won the high jump with a height of 5-3, winning her second straight NCAC title in the event.
Senior Zoe Price (Bellefontaine) finished the day with 4 All-NCAC citations, finishing third in the 100-meter dash and the 400-meter hurdles and helping the 400- and 1600-meter relay teams to second-place showings, joining senior Julia Dickman (Marysville), freshman Sarah Mazzei (Rocky River), and sophomore Addystin Lykins (Carey) on the 400-meter relay team and freshman Aliisa James (Miamisburg/Dayton Christian), sophomore McKela Elder (Fremont/Ross), and Dickman on the 1600-meter relay team.
All-NCAC honors also went to Dickman, who finished second in the 100-meter dash and added a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash; James, who was second in the 400-meter hurdles; sophomore Anna Court (Galion), who finished second in the discus; and senior Khloe Dubenion (Columbus/Academy), who was third in the discus.
Other standouts for the Bishops included junior Jordan Holton (Chelsea, Mich.), who finished fifth in the javelin; Elder, who was fifth in the 800-meter run; senior Kylee McFarland (Granville), who placed sixth in the 1500- and 800-meter runs; sophomore Jocelyn Weaver (Hudson), who was sixth in the javelin; sophomore Sarah Watson (Fremont/Ross), who placed sixth in the high jump; sophomore Ava Klann (Dublin/Coffman), who finished eighth in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles; and Lykins, who placed eighth in the 400-meter dash.
