Four Ohio Wesleyan University men's lacrosse players received Scholar All-America recognition by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, it was announced by the USILA.
Senior defenseman Joe Connor (Barrie, Ontario/Everest Academy), senior midfielder Jack Damon (Portsmouth, R.I.), senior defenseman Carter Haskel (Denver, Colo./East), and senior attacker Luke Swadding (Strongsville/Lakewood St. Edward) were recognized by the USILA.
To receive Scholar All-America honors, one must must be nominated by their coach and be a student with a senior-year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; will have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to themself, their institution, and to college lacrosse both on and off the field; and must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player. Simply being a member of the North/South team and/or being all-league/conference does not in itself guarantee recognition -- each Individual is evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Scholar All-America committee.
The Ohio Wesleyan men's lacrosse team also was honored by the USILA, receiving a Team All-Academic Award. The Team All-Academic Award recognizes teams which achieve a grade point average of above 3.0. A total of 63 Division III institutions received Team All-Academic Awards.
