Blaumeiser Highlights Harriers at All-Ohio Championship

19th of 30 at All-Ohio championship

Freshman Benjamin Blaumeiser (Kettering/Fairmont) led Ohio Wesleyan at the annual All-Ohio cross country championship meet, hosted by Cedarville University on Friday night in Cedarville.

Walsh won the meet with 61 points to 88 for Dayton.  Otterbein finished third with 96 points, followed by Findlay (131), Cedarville (132), Wright State (197), Malone (200), Wilmington (215), and Tiffin (263).  Shawnee State completed the top 10 teams with a total of 285 points, followed by Ashland (361), Case Reserve (409), Baldwin Wallace (464), Kenyon (472), Heidelberg (491), Mount Vernon Nazarene (493), Ohio Christian (503), Wittenberg (515), and Ohio Wesleyan (550).  Lake Erie completed the top 20 with a score of 552, followed by Wooster (569), Ohio Northern (573), Rio Grande (595), Ohio Dominican (676), Muskingum (687), Capital (703), Central State (811), Lorain County Community College (869), and Marietta (911).  Wilberforce did not record a team score.

Zach Kreft of Walsh won the race, completing the 8000-meter course in 24:03.3.

Blaumeiser finished 76th among individuals in 26:08.9.

Sophomore Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington) was 108th in 26:40.7, sophomore Simon Leck (Toledo/St. Francis DeSales) placed 189th in 27:44.2, junior Evan Miller (Wooster) finished 221st in 28:04.4, and senior Ethan Bradt (Berea/Berea-Midpark) rounded out the Bishop scoring with a 243rd-place finish in 28:17.8.

Freshman Xavier Platt (Fredericktown) was 254th in 28:27.6 and sophomore Ethan McNichols (Gahanna/New Albany) placed 270th in 28:40.4.
