Senior Jayden Byfield-Ramirez (Washington, D.C./Wilson) won an event for Ohio Wesleyan at the Muskingum Invitational, hosted by Muskingum University on Saturday in New Concord.
Muskingum won the meet with 142½ points to 120½ for Marietta. Ohio Wesleyan finished third with 115 points, followed by Heidelberg (97½), St. Vincent (53), Waynesburg (44½), Thiel (37), and Chatham (21).
Byfield-Ramirez won the weight throw with an effort of 55-5½.
Sophomore Trey Theobald (Archbold) helped a pair of Ohio Wesleyan relay teams to wins, combining with freshman Joaquim Bila (Westbrook, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy), sophomore Trey Good (Marysville/Fairbanks), and senior Zach Murrey (Logan) to win the 800-meter relay in 1:34.77, and joining forces with sophomore Charley Morris (Denver, Colo./Denver School of the Arts), senior Jacob Bauer (Hilliard/Davidson), and freshman Jake Marzulli (Medina) for a win in the 1600-meter relay in 3:34.19. Theobald also finished third in the 400-meter dash.
Other standouts for the Bishops included Morris, who finished second in the 500-meter run; senior Wyatt Wells (Marion/Pleasant), who placed second in the pole vault; freshman Mack Fincham (Springfield/Kenton Ridge), who was third in the high jump, fifth in the 60-meter hurdles, and sixth in the pole vault; Bila, who was third in the 200-meter dash and eighth in the 60-meter dash; freshman Griffin Sawyer (Rocky River), who placed third in the pole vault; sophomore Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington), who finished fourth in the 3000-meter run; sophomore Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale), who placed fifth in the long jump and eighth in the 200-meter dash; freshman Connor Skidmore (Bellefontaine), who finished fifth in the mile run; Good, who finished fifth in the high jump; freshman Andrew Bentz (Marysville), who placed fifth in the shot put; junior Dylan Liggett (Medina/Highland), who was sixth in the 60-meter dash; Bauer, who placed sixth in the 500-meter run; junior Evan Miller (Wooster), who was sixth in the 3000-meter run; freshman Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.), who finished sixth in the triple jump; and senior Alex Reidell (Centerville), who placed seventh in the weight throw.
