Relay Teams Win for Men's Track & Field

4th of 6 at Baldwin Wallace Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge

A pair of Ohio Wesleyan relay teams broke the tape to lead the Bishops at the Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday in Berea.

Mount Union won the meet with 120 points to 82 for Baldwin Wallace.  Case Reserve was third with 70 points, followed by Ohio Wesleyan (40), Oberlin (17), and John Carroll (13).

The Bishop 1600-meter relay team of sophomore Charley Morris (Denver, Colo./Denver School of the Arts), senior Jacob Bauer (Hilliard/Davidson), freshman Jake Marzulli (Medina), and sophomore Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale) won in 3:31.99, while the distance medley relay team of junior Evan Miller (Wooster), sophomore Simon Leck (Toledo/St. Francis DeSales), freshman Connor Skidmore (Bellefontaine), and sophomore Andrew Williamson (Heath) won in 11:23.18.

Other standouts for the Bishops included senior Jayden Byfield-Ramirez (Washington, D.C./Wilson), who finished second in the weight throw; sophomore Trey Good (Marysville/Fairbanks), who placed fourth in the high jump; senior Wyatt Wells (Marion/Pleasant), who placed fifth in the pole vault; Morris, who was fifth in the 800-meter run; freshman Griffin Sawyer (Rocky River), who placed sixth in the pole vault; freshman Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.), who finished sixth in the triple jump; and sophomore Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington), who finished sixth in the 800-meter run.

The Ohio Wesleyan 800-meter relay team of sophomore Trey Theobald (Archbold), freshman Joaquim Bila (Westbrook, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy), Good, and senior Zach Murrey (Logan) finished third.
