Senior forward Allie Crawford (West Hartford, Conn./Hall) scored a pair of goals to help Ohio Wesleyan pull away during the second half for a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Oberlin on Saturday in Oberlin.
The teams battled through a scoreless first half, with Ohio Wesleyan assembling a 20-0 edge in shots and a 20-1 advantage in penalty corners, but the Oberlin defense kept the Bishops off the scoreboard.
Early in the second half, the Yeowomen were whistled for a foul and Crawford stepped up to take a penalty stroke, which she converted with 12:09 left in the quarter.
Crawford struck again early in the second quarter after a Bishop penalty corner, with sophomore forward Olivia Danley (Del Rio, Texas/Independence (Va.)) credited with an assist on the play.
The Bishops made it 3-0 in the closing minutes after another penalty corner. Freshman midfielder Grace Ammon (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) set up sophomore midfielder Alyssa Markell (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County), who teed up a shot from the left side with 4:08 remaining.
Ohio Wesleyan outshot Oberlin, 45-0. Junior Meg McCarthy (Trumbull, Conn.) and junior Brynn Schlesinger (Arnold, Md./Broadneck), combined on the shutout.
