Senior Khloe Dubenion (Columbus/Academy) and senior Veronica Hardman (Blenheim, New Zealand) won All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors in leading Ohio Wesleyan during the first day of the NCAC championship meet, hosted by DePauw University on Friday in Greencastle, Ind.
With 6 events completed, Oberlin was leading the meet with 48 points to 39 for Wittenberg. Ohio Wesleyan was in third place with 37 points, followed by DePauw (36), Wooster (33), Kenyon (22), and Denison (18).
Dubenion placed second in the weight throw with a mark of 52-2¾.
Hardman finished third in the long jump with a leap of 16-5¼.
Other standouts for the Bishops included junior Cameron Rogers (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South), who finished fifth in the pole vault; freshman Celeste Swihart (Fredericktown), who was sixth in the pole vault; junior Lizzi Nagy (North Royalton), who placed eighth in the weight throw; and sophomore Aliisa James (Miamisburg/Dayton Christian), who finished eighth in the long jump.
The Ohio Wesleyan distance medley relay team of sophomore Eleanor Luttman (Farmington Hills, Mich./Farmington), junior Siarra Hoover (Frazeysburg/Newark Licking Valley), sophomore Katelyn Stapleton (Urbana/West Liberty Salem), and freshman McKenna Downing (Pleasant Hill/Newton Local) finished fifth.
In preliminary action, junior Liberty Brock (Zanesville/New Concord John Glenn) clocked the meet's fastest time in the 400-meter dash, breaking the tape in 1:00.75, and freshman Coral Pierson (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) had the third-fastest time in the 60-meter hurdles with a :09.39.
The NCAC championship meet is scheduled to conclude on Saturday.
