at Oberlin Dan Kinsey Invitational

Freshman Mack Fincham (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) won 2 events to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Dan Kinsey Invitational, hosted by Oberlin College on Friday in Oberlin.

Fincham won the high jump by clearing 5-7 and broke the tape in the 60-meter hurdles in :09.39.  He also finished third in the pole vault.

Also winning events for Ohio Wesleyan were sophomore Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington), who won the mile run in 4:36.01; senior Wyatt Wells (Marion/Pleasant), who won the pole vault by clearing 12-2; freshman Andrew Bentz (Marysville), who won the shot put with a throw of 40-7½; and senior Zach Murrey (Logan), who won the 200-meter dash in :23.89.

Other standouts for the Bishops included senior Jayden Byfield-Ramirez (Washington, D.C./Wilson), who finished second in the weight throw and the shot put; sophomore Trey Good (Marysville/Fairbanks), who placed second in the high jump and third in the 200-meter dash; sophomore Preston Pethtel (Heath), who was second in the mile run; sophomore Charley Morris (Denver, Colo./Denver School of the Arts), who finished second in the 400-meter dash; freshman Griffin Sawyer (Rocky River), who placed second in the pole vault; freshman Joaquim Bila (Westbrook, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy), who was second in the 200-meter dash; freshman Connor Skidmore (Bellefontaine), who finished third in the mile run; junior Dylan Liggett (Medina/Highland), who was third in the 60-meter dash; sophomore Simon Leck (Toledo/St. Francis DeSales), who placed third in the 800-meter run; and junior Antonio Sonego (Medina), who finished third in the shot put.

The Ohio Wesleyan 1600-meter relay team of Morris, senior Jacob Bauer (Hilliard/Davidson), freshman Jake Marzulli (Medina), and sophomore Trey Theobald (Archbold) finished second.
