Box Score
Ohio Wesleyan 9, Eureka 5

Junior outfielder Edrick Padilla (Salinas, P.R./Perkiomen (Pa.) School) scored the go-ahead run and senior outfielder Max Pershin (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech College Prep) knocked in 3 runs on the day as Ohio Wesleyan defeated Eureka on Saturday in Millington, Tenn.

The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was moved to Sunday.

With the score tied at 5 in the top of the seventh, the Bishops loaded the bases with nobody out as Padilla and freshman catcher Zane Vitense (Maple Grove, Minn.) reached on Red Devil errors and junior first baseman Dillon Ysseldyke (Hilliard/Bradley) drew a walk.  The runners moved up on a wild pitch, with Padilla's run putting Ohio Wesleyan ahead, 6-5.  Pershin followed with a single to score Vitense, and sophomore second baseman Ryan Duckworth (Hilliard/Bradley) followed with a shot to right center that originally went for a 2-run triple, but Duckworth was called out on an appeal for missing second base, making the play a 2-run single.

Eureka took advantage of 3 Ohio Wesleyan errors to push across 2 runs in the first, and the Red Devils made it 4-0 in the fourth as Kelton O'Grady and Nick Rulevish drove in runs.

The Bishops took the lead with 5 runs in the fifth, with Vitense delivering a 2-run double and Pershin following with a 2-run single, but Eureka scratched out the tying run on a walk, an infield out, a wild pitch, and another infield out in the bottom of the inning.

Pershin was 3-for-4 with 3 RBI, and Vitense drove in 2 runs and scored twice.  Sophomore righthander Joe Liss (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) finished the game with 2.2 innings of scoreless relief to record the win.
