Senior attacker Grace Egan (Ridgefield, Conn.) had 2 goals as Ohio Wesleyan outscored Ohio Northern, 7-3, during the first quarter, and added 3 more scores during a 12-0 run that iced the game in a non-conference win over Ohio Northern on Saturday in Ada.

Egan put the Bishops on the scoreboard in the opening minutes of the game, but Rylie Kocek answered with a shorthanded goal for the Polar Bears.

Ohio Wesleyan scored the next 4 goals to take the lead for good, with junior midfielder Sophia DelGallo (Braintree, Mass.), sophomore attacker Caroline Fleming (Pittsburgh, Pa./South Fayette), junior attacker Nicole Klabus (Delaware/Hayes), and junior attacker Sophia Staples-Roy (Hopkinton, N.H.) contributing scores to give the Bishops a 5-1 lead.

Ohio Northern pulled within 5-2 with a free-position goal by Noel Orioli, but Egan and sophomore attacker Samantha Diaz (Los Angeles, Calif./Compton Early College) closed out the first quarter with scores for a 7-3 Bishop lead.

Meredith Miller opened the second-quarter scoring with a goal just 19 seconds into the period to make it 7-4.

Fleming then scored a pair of goals 33 seconds apart to kick off the 12-0 Bishop run, and added another score midway through the quarter.  Klabus had 2 more goals and Egan closed out the second-quarter scoring with a goal, then kicked off the third-quarter scoring with another goal.  Another score by Egan helped Ohio Wesleyan outscore ONU, 4-0, during the period on the way to an 18-4 lead heading into the final quarter.

Egan led Ohio Wesleyan with 5 goals, while Fleming finished with 4 goals and an assist and Klabus added 3 goals and 2 assists.  Freshman Cadence Jobe (Pickerington/Central) made 5 saves during the first 47-plus minutes, and sophomore Zoë Nelson (Frederick, Md./Urbana) had 1 save during the final 12 minutes.
