Ohio Wesleyan 23, Albright 7

Freshman attacker Xander Craven (Franklinville, N.C./Greensboro Day School) and sophomore midfielder Brady Hunt (Maineville/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) tallied 2 goals apiece during the first quarter to help start Ohio Wesleyan on its way to a non-conference win over Albright on Sunday in Reading, Pa.

Craven and Hunt scored in the opening minutes of the game for a 2-0 Bishop lead.  Craven followed with another score before sophomore attacker Spencer Amacher (Blacksburg, Va./Blue Ridge School) and Hunt scored goals just seconds apart to increase the margin to 5-0.  Freshman attacker Garrett Smith (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and freshman attacker Will Siegenthaler (Elmhurst, lll./York) added goals to make it 7-0.

Albright got on the scoreboard with a goal by Lucas Roselli in the final seconds of the first quarter, but the Bishops answered by scoring the first 6 goals of the second period, highlighted by a pair of scores from sophomore midfielder Joey Wiseman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) and a goal and an assist by Amacher.

The Lions rallied during the third quarter as 3 consecutive goals by Roselli narrowed the deficit to 14-5, but that was as close as the hosts would come.

Amacher led the Bishops with 3 goals and 2 assists, and Hunt, Wiseman, Craven, and sophomore attacker Carson Geier (Milford) each contributed 3 goals and an assist.  Sophomore Nathan George (Gainesville, Va./Battlefield) made 4 saves during the first half. Senior Carl Mazabras (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan), senior George Whitney (Marion, Mass./Tabor Academy), and junior Paddy Colligan (Greenwich, Conn.) each saw action during the second half, with Colligan recording 5 saves during the fourth quarter.
