Sophomore attacker Spencer Amacher (Blacksburg, Va./Blue Ridge School) opened the second half with back-to-back goals to even the score at 6, but 17th-ranked Cabrini scored the next 3 goals and went on to a non-conference win over Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday in Radnor, Pa.
The Cavaliers led, 6-4, at the half, but Amacher scored with 10:59 left in the third quarter and followed with a goal midway through the period to tie it up.
Cabrini answered with scores by Dillon McManus and Tommy Vaughan just under a minute apart, then added a goal by Matt Vanaman to take a 9-6 lead.
Freshman attacker Xander Craven (Franklinville, N.C./Greensboro Day School) scored 37 seconds later to bring the Bishops within 9-7, but Matthew Dorrian answered with a goal at the :33 second mark to restore the 3-goal margin.
Craven opened the fourth quarter with a score, but Cabrini got goals from Dillon McManus and Dorrian for the 12-8 final.
Freshman attacker Garrett Smith (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard first, but the Cavaliers struck with a pair of goals from Jake Schneider to take the lead, and Brady Rauner followed with goal to give the hosts a 3-1 advantage. The teams traded goals for the rest of the first half, with Cabrini taking a 6-4 lead into the locker room.
Amacher led the Bishops with 3 goals, while Hunt and Craven scored 2 goals apiece. Junior Paddy Colligan (Greenwich, Conn.) went the distance in the Ohio Wesleyan goal, recording 12 saves.
