Sophomore outfielder Avery Panozzo (Denver, Colo./Mullen) and junior third baseman Alyssa Back (Newark) scored 2 runs apiece to help Ohio Wesleyan close out its spring trip with a win over Trinity on Saturday in Clermont, Fla.

In Saturday's first game, Middlebury's McKenna Lont tossed a 3-hit shutout and drove in 2 runs to lead the Panthers to the win.

Trinity pushed across a run in the first on a leadoff walk to Taylor Mikolajczak and singles by Abigail Alper and Gianna Tito, but the Bishops countered with 3 runs in the bottom of the inning, and made it 4-1 when junior second baseman Sophia Cegledy (Pataskala/Bishop Hartley) plated a run in the second.

The Bantams tied the game on Hannah Mullaney's sacrifice fly in the fifth, but once again, the Bishops responded in the bottom of the inning, with sophomore first baseman Sophie Leohner (Columbus/Upper Arlington) knocking in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly.

Back went 3-for-4 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Junior lefthander Katie Chittum (Hebron/Lakewood) worked 5-plus innings, scattering 9 hits and striking out 6, to collect the win, and sophomore righthander Kaelyn Rodriguez (South El Monte, Calif.) finished the game to record a save.

Against Middlebury, the Panthers  took the lead on Megan Fox's 3-run homer in the first inning.

The Bishops threatened in the top of the second when junior outfielder Rylie Moore (Noblesville, Ind.) and sophomore outfielder Alyssa Perkins (Fredericktown) opened the inning with singles and a sacrifice by Leohner moved the runners to second and third, but Lont bounced back to strike out Rodriguez and retire junior catcher Sara Bias (Sandusky/St. Mary's Central Catholic) on an infield grounder to get out of the inning.

Middlebury added 6 runs in the second inning on a 2-run double by Lont and 2-run singles by Abby Santis and Fox.

Freshman righthander Makenna Knisley (Washington Court House/Washington) was the starting and losing pitcher for the Bishops.
