Senior Ari McPheters (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) and the 1600-meter relay team of sophomore Aliisa James (Miamisburg/Dayton Christian), junior Addystin Lykins (Carey), freshman McKenna Downing (Pleasant Hill/Newton Local), and junior Siarra Hoover (Frazeysburg/Newark Licking Valley) won events for Ohio Wesleyan during the second day of the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational, hosted by Muskingum University on Saturday in New Concord.
Walsh won the meet with 163 points to 117½ for Ohio Wesleyan. John Carroll finished third with 100½ points, followed by Baldwin Wallace (91), Otterbein (83), Muskingum (59), Marietta (37), Cuyahoga Community College (15), Mount Union (6), and Thiel (1).
McPheters won the shot put with a throw of 43-5¼.
The 1600-meter relay team won its event in 4:20.31.
Other standouts for the Bishops included James, who was second in the 400-meter hurdles and third in the 100-meter hurdles; senior Peyton Howell (Canton/GlenOak), who placed second in the high jump; sophomore Katelyn Stapleton (Urbana/West Liberty Salem), who finished third in the 200- and 400-meter dashes; junior Ireland Nowak (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), who placed third in the triple jump; Downing, who was fourth in the 400-meter dash; freshman Emma Hall (Ironton), who finished fourth in the shot put; senior Veronica Hardman (Blenheim, New Zealand/Ravenswood), who placed fourth in the long jump; junior Ava Klann (Dublin/Coffman), who finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles; senior Madison Manns (Kenton/Bellefontaine Logan), who was fifth in the high jump; freshman Emily Davis (Brimfield/Mogadore Field), who placed sixth in the discus; Lykins, who was seventh in the 200-meter dash; freshman Celeste Swihart (Fredericktown), who tied for seventh in the pole vault; and sophomore Ashley Beatty (Delaware/Buckeye Valley), who finished eighth in the 400-meter dash.
