Junior outfielder Edrick Padilla (Salinas, P.R./Perkiomen (Pa.) School) drove in 3 runs as Ohio Wesleyan narrowed a 4-0 deficit to 4-3, but Adrian held off the rally to win the second game of a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday in Adrian, Mich.

In the opener, Padilla's 2-run double helped the Bishops cut a 5-0 deficit to 5-3, but the Bulldogs held on for the win.

The hosts built a 5-0 lead in the opener on an RBI single by Edward Wagner in the first, a 2-run double by Jakob Charles in the second, and a pair of unearned runs in the third.

Sophomore outfielder Sammy Stoner (Dublin/Jerome) and freshman catcher Zane Vitense (Maple Grove, Minn.) were hit by Adrian pitches to open the top of the fourth, and one out later, junior second baseman Blake Farley (Hudson) singled to load the bases.  Junior first baseman Dillon Ysseldyke (Hilliard/Bradley) plated a run with an infield single and Padilla followed with a single to right, scoring Vitense and Farley.

Farley was 2-for-3 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Junior righthander Jason Monos (Amherst/Steele) was the starting and losing pitcher for the Bishops.

Adrian took an early lead in the nightcap on a sacrifice fly by Don Goodes and added 3 runs in the third with the help of a 2-run double by A.J. Miranda.

Padilla led off the sixth with a blast to right center to put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard.

In the seventh, Vitense led off with a single and moved to second on an infield out.  After a walk to Farley, Padilla smashed a double to right to chase home both runners and put the tying run on second.  After a walk to senior outfielder Max Pershin (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech College Prep), a wild pitch moved the tying run to third, but Ryan Davis moved from third base to the mound and induced a popup by junior outfielder Ryan Stefancin (Cleveland/North Ridgeville) to get out of the inning.

Padilla was 2-for-3 with 3 RBI.  Junior righthander Andy Anthony (Delaware/Buckeye Valley) was the starting and losing pitcher for Ohio Wesleyan.
