T8th of 22 at Centre Invitational

Sophomore Trey Theobald (Archbold) posted Ohio Wesleyan's best individual finish to lead the Bishops at the Centre Invitational, hosted by Centre College on Saturday in Danville, Ky.

Centre won the meet with 124 points to 100 for Cedarville.  Berry was third with 85 points, followed by Denison (70½), Lindsey Wilson (69), Wittenberg (37), Wilmington (28), and Ohio Wesleyan and Berea (24).  Thomas More rounded out the top 10 teams with 22 points, followed by Lindsey Wilson JV (20), Transylvania (18), Antelope Children Track Club (13), Earlham (10), Cumberlands, Midway, Asbury, Maryville, and Mount St. Joseph (8), Georgetown (Ky.) (7½), and Sewanee and Hanover (5).

Theobald finished second in the javelin with a throw of 174-2.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Coleman Kegler (Columbus/Upper Arlington), who was third in the javelin; freshman Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.), who placed seventh in the triple jump; freshman Mack Fincham (Springfield/Kenton Ridge), who finished eighth in the javelin; and sophomore Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington), who placed eighth in the 5000-meter run.

The Ohio Wesleyan 400-meter relay team of freshman Joaquim Bila (Westbrook, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy), Theobald, sophomore Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale), and senior Zach Murrey (Logan) finished sixth, as did the 1600-meter relay team of Myers, senior Jacob Bauer (Hilliard/Davidson), freshman Jake Marzulli (Medina), and Theobald.
