6th of 20 at Centre Invitational
Sophomore Aliisa James (Miamisburg/Dayton Christian) and senior Peyton Howell (Canton/GlenOak) had second-place finishes for Ohio Wesleyan to lead the Bishops at the Centre Invitational, hosted by Centre College on Saturday in Danville, Ky.
Cedarville won the meet with 151 points to 93 for Centre. Berry (Ga.) finished third with 78 points, followed by Wittenberg (64), Denison (46), Ohio Wesleyan (44½), Hanover (41), Lindsey Wilson (40), and Thomas More (31). Midway completed the top 10 teams with 26 points, followed by Mount St. Joseph (19), Berea (17), Wilmington (16), Georgetown (Ky.) (9½), Shawnee State (6), Transylvania and Cumberlands (5), Earlham (4), Asbury (2), and Morehead State (1).
James finished second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.75 and was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles.
Howell was second in the high jump, clearing 5-3.
Other standouts for the Bishops included junior Addystin Lykins (Carey), who placed third in the 400-meter dash; senior Lauren Montgomery (Newark/Licking Valley), who was fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase; junior Ireland Nowak (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), who placed sixth in the triple jump; senior Madison Manns (Kenton/Bellefontaine Logan), who was sixth in the high jump; senior Veronica Hardman (Blenheim, New Zealand/Ravenswood), who placed seventh in the long jump; and freshman Celeste Swihart (Fredericktown), who tied for eighth in the pole vault.
