Ohio Wesleyan started quickly, then outscored Oberlin, 3-0, during the third quarter to help carry their momentum to a North Coast Athletic Conference win on Wednesday at Selby Stadium.

Junior attacker Nicole Klabus (Delaware/Hayes) scored the opening goal in the first minute of the match, but momentum slowed as each team tried to find its rhythm.  The Bishops attempted to ramp up their score but shots went wide or were deflected by Oberlin.  Their two goals of the quarter came from Klabus and freshman midfielder Sam Frary (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley Charter), but Oberlin was able to tie it up with a pair of goals from Abbie Patchen and Emily Shimabukuro.

Klabus notched another goal a few minutes into the second quarter of the match to give the Battling Bishops an advantage. Oberlin attacker Emily Shimabukoro was able to notch a goal with :03 left on the shot clock after a series of misses from the offense.  A second came just a few minutes later by Shimabukoro off an 8-meter attempt.

The Bishops fought to retie the game in the final minutes of the second quarter as Oberlin went up by one.  A goal from sophomore attacker Samantha Diaz (Los Angeles, Calif./Compton Early College) was able to do just that and tie up the game at 4 in the final 10 seconds of the quarter.

The third quarter got off to a messy start with 6 turnovers and 13 fouls.  Sophomore attacker Caroline Fleming (Pittsburgh, Pa./South Fayette) was able to get on a break and charge forward to notch a goal for the Bishops, allowing them to regain the lead.  Freshman midfielder Tiffany Trinh (Dublin/Scioto) and sophomore midfielder Amara Carlson (Dublin/Coffman) were able to add another pair of goals to give the Bishops a 3-goal lead going into the final quarter of play.

Oberlin started the fourth quarter with a fight in them as Audrey Koren was able to net a goal to tighten the gap.  However, the Bishops had other plans, with senior attacker Grace Egan (Ridgefield, Conn.) scoring her own goal with just eight minutes left to make the score 8-5 in the Bishops' favor.  Each side was able to notch one more goal but the Bishops held strong, keeping possession to end the game 9-6.

Klabus led the team with 2 goals while 7 other Bishops were able to get one added to their name.  Sophomore goalkeeper Abby Markowitz (Las Vegas, Nev./Somerset Academy) made 11 crucial saves in the match to stop the Yeowomen.
