8th of 13 at All-Ohio championship

Junior Antonio Sonego (Medina), sophomore Trey Theobald (Archbold), and sophomore Kory Kaiser (Cincinnati/West Clermont) won All-Ohio honors for Ohio Wesleyan at the All-Ohio championship meet, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday at the George Gauthier Track and Selby Stadium.

Denison won the meet with 153½ points to 132 for Case Reserve.  Otterbein finished third with 95½ points, followed by Oberlin (63), Ohio Northern (61½), Wooster (57), Wilmington (53), Ohio Wesleyan (41), Kenyon (37½), Marietta (37), Defiance and Muskingum (17), and John Carroll (14).

Sonego finished second in the discus.

Theobald placed second in the javelin.

Kaiser finished third in the 10,000-meter run.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington), who placed sixth in the 1500-meter run; sophomore Andrew Williamson (Heath), who finished sixth in the 10,000-meter run; senior Jacob Bauer (Hilliard/Davidson), who was seventh in the 400-meter dash; junior Evan Miller (Wooster), who placed seventh in the 10,000-meter run; and senior VaShawn Walker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley), who finished seventh in the hammer.

The Ohio Wesleyan 1600-meter relay team of sophomore Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale), Bauer, freshman Jake Marzulli (Medina), and Theobald finished fourth, while the Bishop 400-meter relay team of freshman Joaquim Bila (Westbrook, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy), Myers, junior Dylan Liggett (Medina/Highland), and senior Clay Sturts (Lexington) placed seventh.
