2nd of 13 at All-Ohio championship
Senior Khloe Dubenion (Columbus/Academy), sophomore Eleanor Luttman (Farmington Hills, Mich./Farmington), and senior Ari McPheters (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) won individual championships and the Ohio Wesleyan 400-meter relay team of freshman Coral Pierson (Powell/Olentangy Liberty), junior Addystin Lykins (Carey), sophomore Aliisa James (Miamisburg/Dayton Christian), and junior Liberty Brock (Zanesville/New Concord John Glenn) also earned an All-Ohio title in leading the Bishops at the All-Ohio championship meet, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday at the George Gauthier Track and Selby Stadium.
Case Reserve won the meet with 111 points to 109 for Ohio Wesleyan. Denison was third with 104½ points, followed by Ohio Northern (97½), Oberlin (76), Wooster (73½), Marietta (49½), Otterbein (45), Wilmington (30), Kenyon (29), Defiance (22), Muskingum (13), and John Carroll (10).
Dubenion won the hammer with a throw of 172-8, breaking the school record of 169-3 set by Hannah Benzing in 2013. It was her second consecutive All-Ohio recognition in the hammer after a second-place finish in 2022.
Luttman won the 10,000-meter run in 42:53.17.
McPheters won the shot put with a throw of 44-7½, winning by a margin of more than a foot. The All-Ohio title was the second in a row for McPheters.
The Bishop relay team broke the tape in :49.61.
All-Ohio honors also went to Pierson, who finished second in the 100-meter hurdles; James, who was second in the 400-meter hurdles; senior Peyton Howell (Canton/GlenOak), who finished third in the high jump; freshman Hazel Jolliff (Cardington/Cardington-Lincoln), who placed third in the javelin; and the 1600-meter relay team of Brock, Lykins, sophomore Katelyn Stapleton (Urbana/West Liberty Salem), and junior Siarra Hoover (Frazeysburg/Newark Licking Valley), which placed second.
Other standouts for the Bishops included Lykins, who finished fourth in the 200-meter dash and fifth in the 100-meter dash; senior Lauren Montgomery (Newark/Licking Valley), who placed fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase; freshman Emily Davis (Brimfield/Mogadore Field), who placed fourth in the discus; junior Jocelyn Weaver (Hudson), who was fourth in the javelin; junior Sammy Maglott (Fredericktown), who finished sixth in the 3000-meter steeplechase; senior Madison Manns (Kenton/Bellefontaine Logan), who was sixth in the high jump; Stapleton, who was eighth in the 800-meter run; freshman McKenna Downing (Pleasant Hill/Newton Local), who placed eighth in the 1500-meter run; and senior Gabby Stefanka (Marion/Elgin), who finished eighth in the hammer.
