Junior shortstop Rylee Anspach (Dublin/Coffman) and sophomore designated player Kaelyn Rodriguez (South El Monte, Calif.) drove in 2 runs apiece and junior second baseman Sophia Cegledy (Pataskala/Bishop Hartley) collected 3 hits to lead Ohio Wesleyan past Denison in the nightcap of a North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader on Tuesday in Granville.

In the opener, Denison's Sydney Silverstein blanked the Bishops into the sixth inning as the Big Red took the win.

Ohio Wesleyan raced to a 4-0 lead in the first inning of the nightcap as Anspach drew a bases-loaded walk and junior centerfielder Rylie Moore (Noblesville, Ind.) followed with a sacrifice fly.  Cegledy and Anspach then scored on a passed ball and an error by Big Red catcher Erika Gustafson respectively.

Cegledy came through with an RBI single in the second, and after the Big Red got the run back in the bottom of the inning, it was sophomore first baseman Sophie Leohner (Columbus/Upper Arlington) answering with an RBI single in the third.

Rodriguez lined a 2-run triple in the fourth and Anspach plated a run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.

Cegledy was 3-for-4 for the Bishops, while Leohner went 2-for-2.  Junior lefthander Katie Chittum (Hebron/Lakewood) pitched the complete game, allowing 8 hits in 5.0 innings and striking out 3.

The opener saw the Big Red strike for 6 runs in the bottom of the second, highlighted by a bases-clearing double from Jacqui Abogado.

The Bishops pushed across a run in the top of the sixth as junior catcher Sara Bias (Sandusky/St. Mary's Central Catholic) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, but Denison got 2 runs in the bottom of the inning, with Indy Workman plating a run with a sacrifice fly before Brooke Surbaugh singled home the game-ending run.

Cegledy went 2-for-3 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Chittum was the starting and losing pitcher for the Bishops.
