5th of 19 at Otterbein Twilight Invitational
Sophomore Trey Theobald (Archbold) won an event for Ohio Wesleyan at the Otterbein Twilight Invitational, hosted by Otterbein University on Friday in Westerville.
Cedarville won the meet with 110 points to 96 for Otterbein. Capital finished third with 62½ points, followed by Mount Union (52), Ohio Wesleyan (46), Malone (45), Muskingum (44), Wright State (31), and Ohio Dominican (24). Walsh completed the top 10 teams with 21 points, followed by Wheeling (17½), Ohio State club (16), Rio Grande (13), Wittenberg (11), John Carroll (10), Marietta and Shawnee State (9), Roberts Wesleyan (8), and Ohio Christian (3).
Theobald won the javelin with a throw of 162-9.
Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.), who placed second in the triple jump; freshman Mack Fincham (Springfield/Kenton Ridge), who finished third in the 110-meter hurdles and seventh in the high jump; sophomore Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale), who was third in the triple jump; senior Jayden Byfield-Ramirez (Washington, D.C./Wilson), who finished fourth in the hammer; senior VaShawn Walker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley), who was fifth in the hammer; senior Zach Murrey (Logan), who finished sixth in the 200-meter dash; and senior Alex Reidell (Centerville), who placed eighth in the hammer.
The Ohio Wesleyan 400-meter relay team of Myers, Murrey, freshman Jake Marzulli (Medina), and senior Clay Sturts (Lexington) placed fifth.
