Senior Ari McPheters (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) set a school record and 6 different Ohio Wesleyan competitors won events to lead the Bishops at the Otterbein Twilight Invitational, hosted by Otterbein University on Friday in Westerville.
Cedarville won the meet with 129¼ points to 115 for Ohio Wesleyan. Otterbein finished third with 63¼ points, followed by Mount Union (53), Wheeling (52¼), Malone (45), Wright State (39¼), Wittenberg (34), and Muskingum (21). Marietta rounded out the top 10 teams with 19 points, followed by Ohio Dominican (15), Capital (12), Ohio State club (11), Ohio Christian (6), Walsh and Roberts Wesleyan (4), Rio Grande (2), and Shawnee State (1).
McPheters won the shot put with a throw of 45-5¼, breaking the school record of 44-11½ she set last year.
Freshman McKenna Downing (Pleasant Hill/Newton Local) won the mile run in 5:23.32.
Senior Khloe Dubenion (Columbus/Academy) won the hammer with a throw of 162-10.
Senior Veronica Hardman (Blenheim, New Zealand/Ravenswood) won the long jump with a leap of 16-6½.
Junior Ireland Nowak (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) won the triple jump with a mark of 30-6½.
Freshman Coral Pierson (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) won the 100-meter hurdles in :15.20.
Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Aliisa James (Miamisburg/Dayton Christian), who placed second in the 400-meter hurdles; sophomore Katelyn Stapleton (Urbana/West Liberty Salem), who finished second in the 200-meter dash; freshman Hazel Jolliff (Cardington/Cardington-Lincoln), who was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles; freshman Marissa Siegel (Blacklick/Pataskala Licking Heights), who placed fourth in the javelin; senior Peyton Howell (Canton/GlenOak), who finished fifth in the high jump; junior Liberty Brock (Zanesville/New Concord John Glenn), who was fifth in the 400-meter dash; senior Jordan Holton (Chelsea, Mich.), who finished fifth in the javelin; senior Madison Manns (Kenton/Bellefontaine Logan), who was sixth in the high jump; junior Sammy Maglott (Fredericktown), who finished sixth in the 3000-meter steeplechase; sophomore Ashley Beatty (Delaware/Buckeye Valley), who placed sixth in the mile run; junior Cameron Rogers (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South), who finished eighth in the pole vault; and senior Gabby Stefanka (Marion/Elgin), who finished eighth in the hammer.
The Ohio Wesleyan 400-meter relay team of Pierson, junior Addystin Lykins (Carey), James, and Brock finished third.
