Denison 14, Ohio Wesleyan 5

Senior attacker Grace Egan (Ridgefield, Conn.) scored to put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard early in the first quarter, but in a battle between rivals, Denison fought back and went on a 4-0 run to start the second period and went on to a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday at Selby Stadium.

Junior attacker Nicole Klabus (Delaware/Hayes) and junior midfielder Sophia DelGallo (Braintree, Mass.) scored first-half goals to battle against Denison, but the Big Red offense was on another level.  Five different Denison attackers scored to keep their advantage against the Bishops.  Maddie Morrell scored consecutive goals to close out the first half and open the second half.

In the third quarter, freshman midfielder Tiffany Trinh (Dublin/Scioto) rang up a goal to bring the Bishops within 9-4 with just 15 minutes of play left.

The Bishops started the fourth with a quick goal from sophomore midfielder Amara Carlson (Dublin/Coffman) but Denison's Morrell, Josie Lucchesi, Anna DeVuono, and Jane Bailey tallied goals to close out the game in favor of the Big Red.  The Bishops got a few good-look chances but shots went wide, and in the final quarter alone there were 5 cards called against the home side.

Klabus had a goal and an assist for Ohio Wesleyan.  Sophomore Abby Markowitz (Las Vegas, Nev./Somerset Academy) was credited with 9 saves.
