Ohio Wesleyan defeated Hiram in a rescheduled North Coast Athletic Conference game on Thursday at Selby Stadium.

Offensively, the Battling Bishops got hot early in the first quarter and did not let up.  Ohio Wesleyan rattled off 9 straight goals without giving up a score during the opening period.  Of the Bishops' first 7 goals, freshman attacker Will Siegenthaler (Elmhurst, Ill./York) scored one and collected an astonishing 6 assists.

In the second quarter, the Bishops' lead eventually extended to 16.  Freshman attacker Xander Craven (Franklinville, N.C./Greensboro Day School) scored 2 goals during that period.

Midway through the third, sophomore defenseman John Cervieri (Lake Forest, Ill./Loyola Academy) scored his first career goal.

Freshman midfielder Jackson Canada (Vail, Colo./Kent Denver) led the way with 5 goals.  Craven and sophomore midfielder Joey Wiseman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) each had a hat trick.  Five different Bishops scored 2 goals.  Siegenthaler racked up 8 assists on the day, tying for fifth place on the Ohio Wesleyan single-game list.  Junior midfielder Cooper Braet (Columbus/Upper Arlington) and sophomore attacker Finn Maguire (Dedham, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) collected 3 assists apiece.

Ohio Wesleyan recorded 24 assists on the evening, breaking the school record of 23 set against Oberlin on April 23, 1997, and equaled against Oberlin on April 18, 2001, and at Oberlin on April 17, 2002.

Four different Bishops protected the net tonight, with senior George Whitney (Marion, Mass./Tabor Academy) starting and recording the win.

The Battling Bishops play their last game of the regular season on Saturday against conference foe DePauw in Greencastle, Indiana.
