Senior John Catanzarite (Worthington/Kilbourne) moved into seventh place in the individual standings to lead Ohio Wesleyan after the second round of the North Coast Athletic Conference championship, hosted by The College of Wooster on Saturday at the North Course of Westfield Country Club in Westfield Center, Ohio.
Wittenberg was leading the tournament with a 36-hole total of 581, 11 shots ahead of Denison. Kenyon and Wooster were tied for third place at 601, followed by DePauw (604), Wabash (610), Ohio Wesleyan (614), and Hiram (773).
Wittenberg's J.F. Aber held on to the individual lead, adding a 73 to his first-round 70 to finish at 143, a single shot ahead of Tiger teammates Evan DiSanto and Matthew Mattioli and Denison's Josh Pethel.
Catanzarite fired a one-over 71 on Saturday to move into seventh place in the individual standings at 147.
Junior Payne Johnson (Barnesville) and sophomore Isaac Henry (Worthington/Kilbourne) were tied for 27th place at 155, junior Jamison Ellis (North Canton/Hoover) was tied for 31st place at 157, and freshman Gavin Stutz (Wooster/Triway) was in 36th place with a 166
The third and final round of the NCAC tournament is scheduled for Sunday.
