Freshman Zoe Ward (Columbus/Worthington Christian) led Ohio Wesleyan at the OWU Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Friday at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio.
Case Reserve won the meet with 36 points to 50 for Ohio Northern and 54 for Ohio Wesleyan. Baldwin Wallace finished fourth with 97 points, followed by Ohio State Running Club (168), Albion (211), John Carroll (225), Ohio Dominican (235), and Heidelberg (239). Denison rounded out the top 10 teams with a score of 264, followed by Bluffton (340), Otterbein (345), and Wright State-Lake (354). Capital, Kenyon, Lorain County CC, and Wilberforce did not record team scores.
Hope Murphy of Baldwin Wallace won the race, completing the 6000-meter course in 22:03.2, finishing just under 4 seconds ahead of Case Reserve's Lauren Iagnemma.
Ward finished fifth in 22:49.3.
Freshman Sophie Cotts (Granville) placed seventh in 23:01.4, freshman Brianna Montgomery (Gibsonburg) was ninth in 23:19.3, freshman Elsa Hoam (Fredericktown) finished 12th in 23:36.3, and junior Eleanor Luttman (Farmington Hills, Mich./Farmington) finished off the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 21st-place finish in 23:59.0.
Sophomore McKenna Downing (Pleasant Hill/Newton Local) was 24th in 24:00.7, and freshman Allison Dietz (Newark) finished 40th in 24:29.8.
