Sophomore forward Olivia Danley (Del Rio, Texas/Independence, (Va.)) recorded her first collegiate hat trick to lead Ohio Wesleyan to a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Allegheny on Saturday in Meadville, Pa.
Danley put the Bishops on the scoreboard after a penalty corner in the 11th minute, with an assist going to sophomore midfielder Avery Slucher (Louisville, Ky./Christian Academy of Louisville).
Ohio Wesleyan made it 2-0 during the final minute of the opening period, with junior forward Colleen McMenamin (Chester, N.J./West Morris Regional) scoring off an assist from senior midfielder Megan Knee (San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel).
The Bishops added 2 more goals during the second quarter as sophomore forward Emma Wright (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) scored with 5:00 to play in the half courtesy of an assist from senior forward Allie Crawford (West Hartford, Conn./Hall), and Danley recorded her second goal of the game off an assist from sophomore midfielder Alyssa Markell (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County).
Danley completed the hat trick midway through the fourth quarter with an unassisted goal. It was the first hat trick for an Ohio Wesleyan player since Oct. 24, 2018, when Alexis Roberts posted one against Oberlin.
Freshman forward Mattison Hyland (Broadheadsville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) wrapped up the day's scoring with a goal in the 54th minute, with Crawford setting up the play.
Ohio Wesleyan outshot Allegheny, 20-1. Junior Brynn Schlesinger (Arnold, Md./Broadneck), junior Meg McCarthy (Trumbull, Conn.), and freshman Payton Mindel (Louisville, Ky./du Pont Manual) combined on the shutout.
