Men's Track & Field Finishes Third at Wooster

3rd of 4 at Wooster Indoor Invitational

Freshman Jayson Dyer (Kenton) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Wooster Indoor Invitational, hosted by The College of Wooster on Saturday in Wooster.

Wittenberg won the meet with 145½ points to 141½ for Wooster.  Ohio Wesleyan finished third with 113 points and Oberlin was fourth with 83 points.

Dyer won the 60-meter hurdles in :09.15.

The Bishop 800-meter relay team of freshman Joel Adade (Columbus/Beechcroft), freshman Alex Stoller (Waverly), freshman Elias Simpkins (Sergeantsville, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional), and freshman Dylan Harper (Marysville) won its event in 1:33.80.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Mack Fincham (Springfield/Kenton Ridge), who was second in the 60-meter hurdles and seventh in the high jump; freshman Connor Smith (Marysville), who placed second in the high jump; sophomore Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.), who was third in the triple jump and fifth in the 60-meter hurdles; freshman Michael Strange (High Bridge, N.J./Voorhees), who finished third in the 60-meter hurdles; senior Zach Donley (Columbus/West Lafayette Ridgewood), who was third in the 200-meter dash; Stoller, who placed fourth in the 400-meter dash; Adade, who was fourth in the 60-meter dash; sophomore Joaquim Bila (Westbrook, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy), who finished fourth in the 200-meter dash; sophomore Griffin Sawyer (Rocky River), who tied for fourth in the pole vault; senior Antonio Sonego (Medina), who placed fifth in the shot put and sixth in the weight throw; Simpkins, who finished fifth in the 60-meter dash; junior Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale), who finished sixth in the long jump; sophomore Andrew Bentz (Marysville), who placed sixth in the shot put; freshman Alex Bzdafka (Solon), who was seventh in the pole vault; and Harper, who placed eighth in the high jump.
