Harper Wins for Men's Track & Field

5th of 10 at Muskingum Meet #2

Freshman Dylan Harper (Marysville) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan at Muskingum Meet #2, hosted by Muskingum University on Saturday in New Concord.

Muskingum won the meet with 121½ points to 117 for Capital.  Washington & Jefferson was third with 111 points, followed by Marietta (105), Ohio Wesleyan (92½), John Carroll (25), Chatham (22), Carlow (18), Thiel (14), and Bethany (10).

Harper won the 60-meter hurdles in :08.55 and tied for fourth place in the high jump.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Connor Smith (Marysville), who placed second in the high jump; junior Simon Leck (Toledo/St. Francis DeSales), who finished second in the 3000-meter run; freshman Alex Stoller (Waverly), who was second in the 400-meter dash; freshman Lucas Weaver (Galion/Northmor), who placed third in the 3000-meter run; sophomore Mack Fincham (Springfield/Kenton Ridge), who was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, sixth in the high jump, and seventh in the pole vault; junior Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington), who placed fourth in the 3000-meter run; freshman Michael Strange (High Bridge, N.J./Voorhees), who finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles and eighth in the pole vault; sophomore Chinedu Melenu (Bowie, Md.), who was fifth in the triple jump and eighth in the 60-meter hurdles; freshman Alex Bzdafka (Solon), who was sixth in the pole vault; sophomore Jake Marzulli (Medina), who finished sixth in the 400-meter dash; senior Antonio Sonego (Medina), who placed seventh in the shot put; and freshman Jayson Dyer (Kenton), who finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles.

The Bishop 800-meter relay team of junior Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale), sophomore Joaquim Bila (Westbrook, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy), Stoller, and senior Zach Donley (Columbus/West Lafayette Ridgewood) finished second.
