Men's Track & Field Places Fifth at Baldwin Wallace

5th of 6 at Baldwin Wallace Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge

Freshman Dylan Harper (Marysville) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday in Berea.

Baldwin Wallace won the meet with 116½ points to 91 for Case Reserve.  Oberlin was third with 51 points, followed by Allegheny (39½), Ohio Wesleyan (38), and Geneva (16).

Harper won the 55-meter hurdles in :08.04.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Mack Fincham (Springfield/Kenton Ridge), who was third in the 55-meter hurdles and sixth in the pole vault, and tied for sixth in the high jump; freshman Joel Adade (Columbus/Beechcroft), who finished fourth in the 55-meter dash; freshman Michael Strange (High Bridge, N.J./Voorhees), who finished sixth in the 400-meter dash; junior Wes Horton (Columbus/Thomas Worthington), who placed fifth in the mile run; freshman Alex Bzdafka (Solon), who was fifth in the pole vault; freshman Haden Kirkham (Granville), who was sixth in 5000-meter run; junior Mason Myers (Perrysville/Hillsdale), who finished sixth in the long jump; freshman Lucas Weaver (Galion/Northmor), who placed seventh in the mile run; sophomore Tyler Tang (New York, N.Y./Eagle Hill (Mass.), who finished seventh in the 5000-meter run; and senior Dylan Liggett (Medina/Highland), who was eighth in the 55-meter dash.

The Ohio Wesleyan distance medley relay team of senior Evan Miller (Wooster), sophomore Jake Marzulli (Medina), sophomore Xavier Platt (Fredericktown), and junior Preston Pethtel (Heath) won its event in 11:07.45.  The Bishop 800-meter relay team of Myers, sophomore Joaquim Bila (Westbrook, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy), freshman Alex Stoller (Waverly), and senior Zach Donley (Columbus/West Lafayette Ridgewood) finished third, while the 1600-meter relay team of Myers, Harper, Strange, and Marzulli placed fourth.
