Sophomore forward Grace Ammon (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) scored the game's only goal to give Ohio Wesleyan a win over Denison in a battle of North Coast Athletic Conference unbeatens on Tuesday in Granville.

Midway through the first half, Ammon fielded a pass in the middle of the field, made a short run into the circle, and chipped a backhand shot over Big Red keeper Athena Joannou and into the cage.

Senior goalkeeper Meg McCarthy (Trumbull, Conn.) preserved the lead midway through the third quarter, leaving the goal line to smother a shot by Denison's Maddie Gaines.

Ohio Wesleyan withstood 3 Big Red penalty corners during the final 2 minutes of regulation time, allowing Denison only one shot on those opportunities and blocking that shot before it could get to the cage.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Denison, 14-4.  McCarthy finished with 1 save.
