Senior Tyler Bodovetz (Steetsboro) placed for Ohio Wesleyan at the Albion Open, hosted by Albion College on Sunday in Albion, Mich.

The meet was not scored.

Bodovetz placed second in the 174-pound bracket.  After receiving a first-round bye, Bodovetz posted a 17-2 technical fall over Steven Green of Slippery Rock, then moved into the championship match with a 9-2 decision over Jack Smith of Albion and a 10-4 decision over Julius Polk of Rochester Christian University.  In the final, Bodovetz lost to Aiden Ashburn of John Carroll in sudden victory by a score of 8-5.

Freshman Joey Baumann (Dublin/Coffman) recorded 3 consecutive pins in the consolation bracket at 157.  After an 8-5 loss to Drew Connelly of John Carroll in the first round, Baumann pinned Austen Murphy of Siena Heights, James Link of Michigan State, and Caleb Goodwin of Siena Heights.  In the fourth round, Baumann lost a 19-12 decision to Joey Fumic of John Carroll.

Senior Des Perry (Garnet Valley, Pa.) posted 2 straight pins in the consolation bracket at 184.  Perry lost a 9-7 decision to Luke Lyons of Grand Valley State in the first round, and in the consolation bracket, Perry pinned Richard Davis of Olivet and Jaxson Hicks of Augustana before losing an 8-2 decision to Bernard Harrison of Albion.
