Mayberry Paces Men's Swimming at Corbiere-Merion

Junior Graham Mayberry (Urbandale, Iowa/Granville (Ohio)) turned in Ohio Wesleyan's best individual finish and helped a relay team to a win during the second day of the Corbiere-Merion Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday at the Meek Center.

Wilmington won the meet with 666 points to 631 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Davis & Elkins finished in third place with 551 points, followed by West Virginia Wesleyan (292), Heidelberg (249), and Hanover (244).

Mayberry finished second in the 100 IM and and combined with freshman Henry Gaudet (Littleton, Colo./Heritage), sophomore Ian Sander (Pemberville/Eastwood), and sophomore Nathan Ambler (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:28.05.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Alex Tovtyn (Allenstown, N.H./Pinkerton Academy), who placed third in the 1650 freestyle; Ambler, who finished fourth in the 100 IM; Gaudet, who was fourth in the 50 freestyle; and senior Chevy Kosek (Cleveland/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), who placed fourth in the 400 IM.

The Bishop 400 medley relay team of Kosek, Tovtyn, junior Evan Lucas (Cincinnati/Loveland), and sophomore C.J. Abahazi (Delaware/Hayes) finished third.

The Corbiere-Merion Invitational honors the memory of Payson Corbiere '96 and T'ai Merion '96, who were members of the Ohio Wesleyan men's swimming team.
