2nd of 6 at Corbiere-Merion Invitational

Freshman Anna Lance (Delaware/Hayes) won an event and helped a relay team to a win for Ohio Wesleyan during the second day of the Corbiere-Merion Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday at the Meek Center.

Davis & Elkins won the meet with 924½ points to 785 for Ohio Wesleyan.  Wilmington finished third with 624 points, followed by Heidelberg (386½), West Virginia Wesleyan (241½), and Hanover (234½).

Lance won the 100 IM in 1:03.84 and combined with sophomore August Lemert (Granville), junior Anna Haines (Reynoldsburg), and senior Brooke Parker (Etna/Pataskala Watkins Memorial) to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:42.49.

Other standouts for the Bishops included senior Lily Davis (Dayton/Chaminade Julienne), who finished second in the 100 IM; sophomore Maria Thibodeaux (Cincinnati/Oak Hills), who was second in the 400 IM; senior Josephine Stark (Sandusky/Castalia Margaretta), who placed fourth in the 400 IM; junior Maddie Hoyt (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial), who was fifth in the 100 IM; and freshman Lillian Borofsky (Easton, Conn./Trumbull), who placed fifth in the 1650 freestyle.

The Bishop 400 medley relay team of Stark, Hoyt, Parker, and Haines finished second.

The Corbiere-Merion Invitational honors the memory of Payson Corbiere '96 and T'ai Merion '96, who were members of the Ohio Wesleyan men's swimming team.
