Horton Leads Harriers at NCAC Championship

Senior Wes Horton (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) led Ohio Wesleyan at the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet, hosted by DePauw University on Sunday at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute, Ind.

Oberlin won the meet with 41 points to 51 for Wittenberg.  DePauw was third with 83 points, followed by Wooster (91), Wabash (102), Kenyon (129), Ohio Wesleyan (193), Denison (194), and Hiram (295).

Brayden Curnutt of Wabash won the race in 25:23.52, defeating Wooster's Drew Robertson by almost 5 seconds.

Horton finished 24th in 27:10.56.

Senior Preston Pethtel (Heath) placed 35th in 27:44.52, freshman Jacob Blubaugh (Columbus/Bishop Ready) was 39th in 27:51.44, senior Simon Leck (Toledo/St. Francis DeSales) finished 49th in 28:05.52, and sophomore Perry Jackson (Springfield/New Carlisle Tecumseh) rounded out the Bishop scoring with a 53rd-place finish in 28:10.86.

Senior Kory Kaiser (Cincinnati/West Clermont) was 56th in 28:18.64 and junior Xavier Platt (Fredericktown) placed 62nd in 28:39.80.
