3rd of 8 at NCAC championship
Sophomore Zoe Ward (Columbus/Worthington Christian), sophomore Sophie Cotts (Granville), sophomore Allison Dietz (Newark), and junior McKenna Downing (Pleasant Hill/Newton Local) won All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors for Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAC championship meet, hosted by DePauw University on Sunday at the
LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
DePauw placed 5 runners among the top 10 individual finishers to win the race with a total of 26 points to 49 points for Wittenberg. Ohio Wesleyan was third with 71 points, followed by Oberlin (120),
Denison (146), Kenyon (169), Wooster (172), and Hiram (271).
DePauw's Lily Monnett won the race, covering the 6000-meter course in 22:06.10, defeating Tiger teammate Sophie Porter by nearly 7 seconds.
Ward finished third in 22:14.51 to win first-team All-NCAC recognition. Cotts was a second-team all-conference honoree with a 10th-place finish in 23:17.40, and Dietz and Downing won third-team honors with respective finishes of 16th place in 23:39.05 and 19th place in 23:52.39. Ward was a second-team All-NCAC honoree last year, while Cotts won third-team recognition in 2023.
Sophomore Elsa Hoam (Fredericktown) completed the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 28th-place finish in 24:32.26.
Senior Eleanor Luttman (Farmington Hills, Mich./Farmington) was 29th in 24:33.92 and sophomore Brianna Montgomery (Gibsonburg) placed 30th in 24:43.45.
