at Akron Haynes Lancaster Open

Sophomore Connor Smith (Marysville) and sophomore Dylan Harper (Marysville) recorded Ohio Wesleyan's best individual finishes as the Bishops opened the 2025 season at the Haynes Lancaster Open, hosted by the University of Akron on Friday in Akron.

The meet was not scored.

Smith finished fourth in the high jump, clearing 6-4¾, and added a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash.

Harper placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in :08.49.  Harper also teamed with junior Ryan Tripp (Sunbury/Big Walnut), junior Jake Marzulli (Medina), and freshman Michael Hess (Painesville/Fairport Harding) to finish sixth in the 1600-meter relay.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Alex Bzdafka (Solon), who finished sixth in the pole vault; freshman Tanner Sir Louis (Wadsworth), who placed seventh in the pole vault; freshman Nate Snead (Sunbury/Big Walnut), who was 10th in the 60-meter dash; and sophomore Michael Strange (High Bridge, N.J./Voorhees), who finished 10th in the 200-meter dash.
